Satellite?

Hi,

Having Satellite installed on Thursday, and I want to know what I will need to hook 3 possibly 4 computers to the internet over the weekend.

My computer is running 98se (pentium III proc) 512 RAM
Daughters 98se (pentium II or III -cant remember)256 RAM
Laptop XP Home 512RAM (not sure of the processor, but its a new laptop)

You dont need anything but ICS installed on the machine that connects to the satellite downlink and a network which i presume you have?

Id imagine that they will supply a proprietary card in your pc as most do to receive and decode the signal so you cant link it to a router or other nat device.

Do you have the hardware details?
Alittle more info would be appreciated.

I have network cards in all 3 computers ICS for sure in the two desktops running 98se. XP laptop came with it.

the two desktops, are:
win98se
1000mgz and i cant remember the other ones proc.
512ram on one comp. 256 on other one.
both desktops are ready for ICS.

I want to have the laptop,wireless if its possible.

If you need more info, let me know. Thanks.

Ive picked up a Linksys router, do I need anything for the lap?

aw man, I hope you pray for clear skies for now on!

Satellite sucks when it comes to cloudy skies, and even light showers. Speeds go down QUICK! And if not done right, ICS will be a pain in the **** and slow down the network really bad.
