1. What's the legalness on using PROXY SERVERS that hide your IP concerning your ISP etc?
2. Also if you find a proxy list and use it. Are these legal proxy servers anyone can use or are they possibly for private use only?
Just wondering if you can get in legal trouble from the Proxy Servers too?
3. Is there a way to hide other applications you use such as FTP client ,IRC etc if it doesn't have a proxy option in win98se?
4. I heard something about a program called ?sockscap/winsocks? that helps hide your IP using any application... Anyone have more info on this?
thanks for reading, appreciate any information!!!

Yeah proxies are legal for the most part, you're protecting yourself from people watching you. There are some sites though, that piggy back off of buisnesses and other places to get proxy access, like a parasite. You have nothing to worry about though, there are some proxies set up by the FBI made specially to spy on you though, like a honey pot proxy servers that's not annonymous at all, there are websites that list these kinds of honey pots. You have nothing to worry about if you behave yourself. online:x

There's been some anti-router legislation in the US lately  Words to the effect of "illegal to use devices that conceal your computer's IP" or something like that.

It is legal if u do legal stuff when using a proxy
If say u deface some website than its illegal
i dont see what the problem is, because if u do use an annonymous proxy than no one will see that ur using it except for the proxy admin and maybe ur ISP and none of them would care until u do something illegal and FBI will ask them to reveal the logs. AGain u have to really mess something or with someone really bad to get FBI on ur *****, so DONT WORRY!!!!!!!
