I have one of the early Swiftech MC462's with the non tach wired fan (4 pin molex) on a KT7A, they now offer a Sanyo fan with a lead to goto the fan1 header (along with the molex for power) so the board will boot, how can I properly add/wire a 3 pin m/b type connector inline to my fan to provide the signal to the board? Ive got a bluorb hanging from the fan1 connector only to allow bootup (sucks) and of course I dont wanna buy the 30$ wired fan from Swiftech...

You can update the BIOS to the newest version ZT. Actually, all BIOS's WZ and later have an option in the PC Health Status that allows you to disable the CPU fan protection.
