go to
1: control panel
2:System
3.Advanced; startup and recovery
4. uncheck auto restart

that should do the trick

I have had a few problems like that in the past...hwover its usually due to over heating or lack of power from ur PSU. Whats ur system..?

It's a Presario 6000 Manufactured by Compaq, didn't buy any new video cards or anything. My drivers are all updated.

Specs:

P4 2.53 Ghz
512MB DDR SDRAM memory
120 GB Ultra DMA HArd Drive
Radeon 9000 with 64 MB

It's all you need to know right ?

what's ur power supply...? I guess you probably dont know...unless you open up to have a look. Check system temps also...P4 chips also wipeout if they get a wee bit to hot

yep....15-20 is just about long enough for the inside or ur puter to really heat up...and hence conk-out. I guess that a compaq has been designed to be as silent as possible...with little cooling. I have a compaq laptop....and that thing gets real hot..! but so quiet..u cant even hear.
