My dughter loaded KAZAA and I got a few "extras" with it. One was some kind of download points manager that I uninstalled. I also see something called P2P Netwroking running & never noticed it before. Is this part of KAZAA? Can I uninstall it & KAZAA will still function?

Kazaa is probably the most dangerous software "Package" around, both for good and the bads
here are some handy tools to clear up some of that mess
Ad Adware 6 http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
Spy Bot Search & Destroy http://security.kolla.de/

Almost forgot, make sure you have a Good Antivirus and Up to date
Firewall software will help too

Uninstall Kazaa and install Kazaa Lite.

Kazaa is a nasty thing to get rid of. You will likely need the BDE KILLER (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/B3DKiller.html) as well.
Once you have KazaaLite in place, as was suggested, you will want to have an AV program in place as well, as a lot of those file swappers like to share viruses too.AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php) is often recommended around here. (it's free)

Why not use WinMX (http://www.winmx.com) instead?...... a lot less headaches

My kids use both winmx and kazaalite. Sometimes it is a little more difficult to find songs on winmx and then they use kazaa.
