Looking for experiences on any USB devices (printers/scanners/mice/speakers/modems/etc). I build computers on the side and have seen an increase in USB devices but haven't heard much feed back from people that have used them. I see USB as being a great way to free up IRQs for other devices like decoders for DVD.

Thanks,
Carl

I bought my first USB Device just a month ago a camera. Intel web cam. To install it I plugged it in the usb slot while the pc was up and running then I installed the software package had it running in 5 min. easy as pie.
So then I bought a scanner I would have had no problems except they didn't tell me to close eveything except the explorer and systray. So had problems but works like a charm

Well I got a USB Mouse about a month back..The Logitech Mouseman Wheel. Its alot smoother than the PS/2 mice, I still leave my old intellimouse pluged in incase I ever get backed up to a pre windows screen (USB devices dont work unless Win98 is running). When I use the PS/2 mouse, it runs choppyier than the USB. No real responsiveness problems or anything like that. And if you dont have another mouse, it comes with a USB -> PS/2 Converter so that you can use that if your ever suck at a pre windows screen

What scanner was that? I'm currently in the market for a scanner and looking hard at the Microtek X6 USB w/ $30 rebate. Tell me you don't have that one. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Bought a Canon FB620U usb scanner a couple of weeks ago. Easy install. $130 at Staples but there is a $30 rebate from Canon.

Nothing like true plug n play. I use my Alps Printer and Storm Scanner through USB and have tried one USB Camera, Mouse, and Speakers this way.
