I have a D845 wn with P4-1.4. The agp is 2x4x.

The board supports sdram.

I want to setup MS 2002 flight and the video card I have now will not cut it.

I was thinking Geforce 440se 128mb,but after reading here,Ati might be better.

Tell me what you think...Thanks for the feed-back...

Well I have to say Im a all out Nvidia Fan, but if your going for a card like the 440SE I would most defo jump and take an ATI, you will get your moneys worth out of the ATI, I am not to sure to what cards ATI has thats in the same price range as the SE, but I would look into getting an ATI :)

A Ti 4200 is a better idea.

Ti4200, Radeon 8500/9100, Radeon 9000/9200, or GfFX5200. In about that order.

If you have more money go for a 9500 Pro if you can find one, or a 9600 Pro/FX5600 whichever appeals to you.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I need to be taken to school on the video cards out there.
I don't understand the compatibility of the on the onboard ram of the cards.
My MOBO has agp x2x4 with sdram.
Some cards have ddr-sdram. Is that the same as sdram?
Some are just ddr. Are they backward compatible?
The MOBO also has the locking device to hold the card which is different from newer cards,I think??? UGH
Are the 8x agp cards backward compatible to 4x?
I am stuck and confused.
Thanks for your time...

System RAM has nothing to do with video RAM. The card could use Martian holo-magnetic RAM and it would still work. ;)

All AGP locking systems are compaitible.

AGP 8X cards work in 4X systems.

Relax and buy! :D

Before I smell smoke tell if this will work.

MSI GF4Ti4200-VTD8X
AGP8X
128MB DDR

Instructions say 8X support only

Going in Intel D845WN (for now)

AGP 4X2X

Thanks

I don't feel like an echo today.

Can I ask a question? Why are you buying an 8X card if you can't use it? It's no faster even if you HAD support for 8X.

I want some of that Martian holo-magnetic ram, imported?:D

The ti4200 will probably run at 4x but your losing out a little, could you not settle for a Geforce3ti200 which is still about in some online shops, or upgrade the mobo at the same time?
