I had the same problem (can't find the post now), but it turned out it had a power-on-by-keyboard command. I thought I had it disabled in the BIOS, but there was also a jumper on the mobo.

Does your keyboard light stay on even with the computer off?

EDIT: I wasn't pressing any keys or anything, but something was screwey and it would come on with a POST beep at 3:00 AM and wake me up.

Check within your BIOS that your WAKE ON LAN or WAKE ON RING are disabled
Ha! Had the same thing happen to me, but I had no idea what it was, (wake on ring). I would come home and find the thing on,,, took me a week to figure it out. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I suggest a good Catholic Priest to give your puter a exorcism to rid them of the unwanted spirits, viruses, and typical Micro$oft crashes.....LOL

Last night when I turned my computer off, I bet it wasn't 10 minutes later while I was reading a book in my computer chair, my pc boots on. This has happed before. My question is: Is there a setting on the computer that has scheduled times when the computer turns on? or could it be that something is wrong with hardware?
MS8127c+ mobo
Thunderbird 1 ghz

Anyone have any ideas?

Some machines do have a Wake timer, check your BIOS.

Also, check for Wake-On-Lan settings. That is, if you have a network hooked up, with perhaps a DSL/Cable connection or something similar. Heck, just disable it and see if that helps - That'll be in the BIOS and in Windows under Control Panel -> Network -> Network card Properties..

Check within your BIOS that your WAKE ON LAN or WAKE ON RING are disabled. Usual cauase for this is a phone ringing and your dial-up modem decides to answer.

P.S... I've been told that Windows Advanced Power Management overrides any settings in the BIOS.
