I'm thinking I'll buy a Mac. However I dont know anything about Mac's, about all I know is that they are more efficient for Graphics and Movies. Also a Mac's processor defeats a PC's.

So what is the latest Mac Product? I want to buy the best top line Mac, is something coming out soon?(so I know if I should wait on buying) I dont know anything about the Mac's 3D Accelorator possiblities (AGP) or what? What of music? From what I know on PC's the best is Sound Blaster or Yamaha. Well... Im trying to build the best Mac I can. So any help would be of help http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif For I'm ignorant about Mac's.

Go to the website for MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/reviews/) . I was at the Macworld in San Fran when they unveiled the g4, get that with the CD/dvd burner in it. The website above has reviews info and tips very informative. It won't be hard to find their top of the line, unlike PC's where there are so many configurations and manufacturers of different parts for the same application.

PS Welcome to sysopt, you'll find you're not the only Macker here.

Do us a favor and report back here after you get that Mac. I'd be very interested to know if you're as happy with that Mac as you think you're going to be.

...special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

sorry, that's the only kind of Mac I'm interested in. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

If your budget allows you, get the G4 Dual 533. Other than needing additional RAM on this setup, it's pretty much set...

MAC G4 Dual 533Mhz (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/232/wo/NWw4a1qYun7VfqkuBA/0.3.0.3.30.15.0.3.1.3.1.1.0?85,117)

Special orders don't upset us, that is why we ask to let us make it your way.
Oh, sorry a config is out, just the Chevy with or without white walls.

"Im trying to build the best Mac I can."

Good luck. With little third party hardware support you won't have many choices for upgradeability or even custom parts.

"Also, a Mac's processor defeats a PC's"

Sure, in equivalent clocks. But you can't buy a 1.4Ghz Mac either.

I frankly cannot stand the Mac OS, as it is just... crappy.

Macs are what I call "the rich man's computer" as it's basically just a plain ole computer that costs a lot more in a special box.

lol Fingers, same here http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Would have to agree with you, Sam, on that it is "the rich man's computer". If you got the many to spend *coughcoughwastecoughcough* then a mac is for you....
