Guys...a probably simple question to answer...but not sure because I have never done before....

I did a re-format and install last week and during this partitioned my hard drive into a 50Gig - 30Gig split. The 30G side I am going to use to store all the goodies I download. I have installed windows XP Pro and all the programs etc. on the 50G side...so if I ever need to re-install windows I just have to format and install on the 50G side. If I ever want to format and re-install windows...will the data saved on the 30G side be saved and available when the fresh install is done?
It was eigther this or buy another hard drive...but dont really want to spend more money for now.
Is there any recommennded sofware I could use to manage partitions etc. or can you only do it during a new installation..?

Thanks

As long as you just format C:, the data on D: will be saved. Don't FDISK!
