I have an ATI All in Wonder 128 Pro. I just bought Rise of Nations and the card doesn't support it because of the directx 9.

I want to use my bonus check at the end of July to buy a new card. I use the caputure feature for the AIW.

I priced the new AIW and it's over $300. I wife will kill me for spending that much. I have priced some Nvidia and ATI cards. I am thinking of seperating the video card and tv tuner/capture card now. So the first question is should I seperate them out or stay with AIW.

The second question is if I do seperate them out. Which brand of video card? I have read a little on both, and right now I am leading toward the Nvidia. On this brand I am not sure to go with a Geforce FX or a Geforce Ti. On the ATI I'm thinking of 9200 or 9500.

I am trying to keep the card between $100-$150. I know the tv tuner/capture card will run about $50 and wanting an ATI brand.

Any suggestions?

If you want actual DX9 features you won't want to go with the GFti or the 9200. Both have DX9 compatible drivers but neither has DX9 hardware features. The Radeon 9500 and the GFFX both have DX9 hardware. If you like eye candy such as Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering the 9500 would be the better choice. If you just want a good card that can run pretty much any game out, the 9500 is the way to go. :D

In short, I wouldn't recommend any GFFX below the 5900 and those are well above $150.

In that price range its either the R9500 Pro or the ti4200 128mb IMO, in which case, stretchign to the r9500 Pro will be prefferable
