I live in South Korea currently and tried to play a DVD(Korean) here in my T30. It poped up a window saying that I could only change the region encoding 3 more times before it would be locked in. Is it like this for all DVD-ROMs or only certain models? It used to just be you had to change the encoding on the dvd software but this seems to be a hardware thing. Does anyone know of any external DVD-ROMs that don't do this?

Once oyou exceed the limit, you must return to the manufacturer to get it reset to another 3 or 5. Kinda stoopid why they made regions for DVDs in the first place....

money and monopoly, thats why there are regions, but depending on your cdrom, you can flash the firmware yourself.

A bit messy to get around, but this is a very good site if you dig deep enough

Seach for dvd region free, dowload program and all your players are region free, its very cheap to compared with nuking your drive if the firmware update goes wrong.
