have tried to install ghost from 2 differant cd's and it just will not install in my windows 200 with sp3. i cant uninstall the service packs as i bought the version with all 3 already built in
anybody know of this problem? ive read one of the service packs fixed an issue with windows installer and am thinking this is problem. thats where it always seems to die.
any comments appreciated.

What version of ghost. Does it give you an error? what exactly does it do?

yeah if it's Ghost 6 or older then you'll have trouble
you need at least Ghost 7 or 7.5

doesnt say version, just date. Ghost 2002.
i assume, just like a car, that means its 2001 version really.
probably is the wrong version. oh well, time to upgrade anyway. off to directron :D
thanks guys, figured that was answer but you never know

Ghost 2002 should install fine. What message does it give you when you try, or what does it do?

I agree. It may be an "Installshield" or Windows Installer problem.

Go to www.microsoft.com/download
and do a search for windows installer, and download and install version 2.
That might just fix it for ya.

okay, i feel like an idiot now.
i just tried it again and it would only give me the repair or remove options. i tried repair and it kept coming up with "not enough room on destination drive" but of course it was trying to do this on my d: drive which is a cd drive
just for kicks i figured, hmm, remove?
sure enough, it removed something. maybe the last few botched attempts left something in registry. all i can figure.
tried install again and bingo. installed.
windows knew i had finally put myself on a limb and asked for help so it figured it would make me look like an idiot i guess
thinking back, the last time i tried i think i was running win 2000 clean install.
am now running it upgraded from 98se as this leaves a few 98se features i like still useable and i had a good 98se ghost image with all my stuff on it
sorry to trouble anyone but this really had me baffled for a time

Upgrades suck. Really. Too much leftover Win98 dust for my liking....

what ive always heard too bill. was waiting for you to say that :D
i clean installed the first time, my wife upgraded. she still had all her stuff, it took me hours to add mine. still didnt have the compressed folders function of 98se plus or themes.
i got the themes figured out but i REALLY hate winzip and i was stuck using it because i couldnt figure out the windows compressed folders and how to add it to 2000. i searched google and tried to pull it off my various other machines but no go
i figured, what the hey, lets give it a shot. i had a good ghost image from few days before with 98se plus and all my goodies so BANG here we are
havent noticed a differance. have tweaked my 2000 as before ( running services etc ).
put together a 500 mhz amd k6-2 system with 98se plus loaded, hooked both machines up to a kvm switch and set one on top of desk and one below. can now play all my old games or play on my fast 2000 system with but mere button press.
best of both worlds
