My sister just informed me that she just bought the super dooper modle G5. 160 MB HD. Big deal. An extra grand for an Imac and another extra grand for a bigger harddrive? I might have go to back to condo land and slap her around a bit. She has had her own web site for four years now and still doesn't know how to use FTP. :p

Well. it is 64-bit and dual-CPU. It has SATA, PCI-X and a DVD burner. If I had those in my PC, you would think $3000 was a bargain. Food for thought...

Yeah, Ank - that's a smoker all right! ECC RAM too. :)

at least you salvaged your reputation as a "nice guy" with that last post - Ankerson - he's always that way

and Uke - you know - it's kinda like someone comes home from the store with an emachine, HP, Compaq and you look at them and wanna shake your head - Jobs doesn't do anything for cheap but at least he keeps the PC guys on their toes :D

you know somethin i was actually fooled by the pic....i started to scroll the vertical bar to c all the config...forgot it was only a jpg.

Good point rmanet, but I can't help but look at it like buying a Cadillac. Nice car, goes fast, has all the bells and whistles but no resale value and the parts will kill you. To me that is an important aspect in any computer purchase. More then that though is software and hardware compatibility. With the rapid pace of developement in the industry it won't be long before Mac is again in the back seat and she'll have the same old Imac.

Thanks, I figured I would just go all out because my next one will be next year...waiting on the Prescot. :D
