So what do u think on the purchase?
With the package comes a nifty software prog that allows manual overclocking on the desktop.
Core Clock is 400 Mhz and memory clock 298 Mhz.
Where can i set those so that i can have max performance without fried chipsets?
the card hasnt been modifed whatsoever, and i thought that r9600 pro's were hard to overclock..is there any better way to do it?
btw the progs name is V-tuner.

Personally i would have taken a r9500 Pro, the 9600 isnt that impressive
As for overclockin try this:

You may or may not need a BIOS flash though to allow overclocking

Radeon 9600s have lots of overclocking headroom, but even when extensively overclocked they fail to outperform 9500 Pros at stock speeds.
They do run cool, however.

i couldnt find a 9500pro,so i went with a 9600...hope the choice serves me well for the time to come.
anyone familiar with v-tuner?
moreover, how can i know where to set the cards mhz's(the max values) so as not to fry the chipset?

First see if it performs well enough for you without overclocking. Articles I've seen say the 9600 Pro is slower than a 9500 Pro with both at stock speed, but equal to it when both are overclocked. But as always, overclocking makes more heat and shortens the life of hardware, so I wouldn't do it on everything, just when needed. I'm still running my Ti4200 at stock, but I'll OC it when/if I need to for the new games coming out while saving for a better card.
Can't help with how to OC that, haven't owned an ATI card for years though my next one may well be.

Grab the PowerStrip utility. It works great with ATI boards for oc'ing
