NDD 06-25-2003, 07:16 PM Nope. Get a multiformat drive. Midknyte 06-25-2003, 07:16 PM http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Hardware_Software/2003/DVDFormatsExplained.asp http://www.dvdplusrw.org/ http://www.dvdrw.com/ http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvd Those should give you the background info. I've heard it go both ways on who is more compatible. Both types CAN work on home dvd players, but it really depends on the model. there should be a compatibility list on one of those sites. I forget which, though. Midknyte 06-25-2003, 07:23 PM oh just give him the easy answer, why don't you?? :p yeah, it's hard to choose a clear winner right now with all the heavy hitters behind each standard. UncleCC 06-25-2003, 07:47 PM So what is being said is, that if I burn a DVD+, it may play one my home DVD and not yours Same for the DVD-? The multiformat burner. Do you have to select DVD+ or DVD-? Now I will the links listed above.. Thanks  ok...peeked at the links..and will say this...YEA RIGHT!... So for now it seems the DVD+ is a good pick...other than the multiform burner...Yea? sm8000 06-25-2003, 10:07 PM When you get a burner that can burn the various formats (the burning software will help you pick which format to burn to), burn one of each format and see what plays in your player. UncleCC 06-26-2003, 12:44 AM OK... Thanks to all. Seems the best route is to go with a multiformat..then you know you are covered. :t AllGamer 06-26-2003, 11:03 AM This is one of my BIGGEST reason why not get a DVD burner yet waiting for the 2 formats to consolidate and become 1 CDRW started the same way, there was 2 kinds of CDRW formats not to mendion PD drives that also was part of the game, but it was even further out all 3 had the same concept, but none was cross compatible and now in days, all reads all, all writes all so just wait and be patient ;) :t SysOpt.com
