I just recieved an E-mail that said. Snow White the real story. It has an attachment with a virus. Is there a way to find where this originated other than the bogus return address.

All you'll be able to find out is which of your friends passed it on to you. Steve R Jones 06-15-2001, 05:43 AM Here's a whole site dedicated this virus: http://www.sexyfun.net/index.shtml jnas 06-15-2001, 06:55 AM Thanks for the fast reply. Steve the link you gave was exactly correct for what I needed. How many others have had this sent to them? Steve R Jones 06-15-2001, 06:56 AM I've had this darn viruse sent to me at least 10 times... jnas 06-15-2001, 07:19 AM Have you been able to find out who sent it? I think I know who sent mine and Im going to let them know to check for the virus. Warthog 06-15-2001, 10:44 AM haha Steve, no wonder you have info on it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I never, ever get virus-style emails...no chain letters, no attachements, nothing. My email addy is at Email.com - maybe because it is not as popular as Hotmail or Yahoo? I dunno... Warthog Steve R Jones 06-15-2001, 10:49 AM Yep, I got a little annoyed at this stupid virus. Of course I check my home mail on my office machine too. Double wammie... I've had the same attglobal.net address for going on five years.... MiKe85 06-15-2001, 03:53 PM I seem to get a lot of e-mails with that sort of thing. Attachments, viruses, etc. After a while it just gets annoying just to delete them. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif glitterin 06-15-2001, 05:59 PM I get that e-mail a couple of times a week. Annoying little bugger - thanks to another member of this forum, everyone in my area had it removed really cheap, if not for free. Thankfully we have him, or us older, computer dense, would be totally in the dark about alot of these things. (Although I bet he wishes we would smarten up on our computer skills quick !!) Comage 06-16-2001, 05:51 AM It's the Emmanuel virus. http://www.symantec.com. has a solution if you're infected with it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Shagnasty 06-16-2001, 11:36 PM Comage has the answer. I know there are quite a few different AntiVirus programs out there. I just don't know why? I've been a big Peter Norton fan since the DOS days and I've never been let down. Some idiot sent me a file with 27 different virus on it...Norton opened a big can of Whup *** on each and every one of them...Norton Antivirus...I wouldn't hit the net without it! dddave 06-17-2001, 04:37 AM The ISP I work for started doing virus filtering as a free service to our customers. To date we have caught and stopped the snow white virus almost 30,000 times SysOpt.com
