Sup everyone :t

Was wondering if anybody out there could help me out.

I currently have a 20gig Western Digital hard drive installed in my computer and recently purchased an 80gig WD special edition hard drive. I'm looking to get the best possible performance/reliability I can get, so what would be the best way to go about this?

Should I make the 20gig my master drive and put the OS on it and make my 80gig my slave....or vice versa? And how should I go about partitioning it? Is it better to make several partitions and allocate a certain amount for the OS or to just make only 1 partition?

I currently have the 20gig(Master), and I have my Kenwood 72X TrueX as well as my Plextor CD-RW drive going into my secondary ide channel. My raid channels are currently not being used.

Below are my system specs

Mobo: Iwill KK266PLUS-R
OS: Windows XP
Memory: 512Mb PC133 SDRAM
CPU: 1.4Ghz Athlon
Hard drive 1: WD 20gig(WD205BA), Ultra DMA 66, 7200 Rpm
Hard drive 2: WD 80gig Special Edition(WD800JB), Ultra DMA 100, 7200 RPM
Cd-Rom: Kenwood 72X TrueX
CD-RW: Plextor 40/20/40

Thanks in advance for the assist. :D

Also.....If anybody has any sites they can link me to so I can learn more about this I would appreciate it. :D

Since the new drive is MUCH faster, you should use Norton Ghost or another utility (the drive should have come with one) to copy the old drive to new, test it and then format the old for backup duty.

Partitioning is something you should do later with Partition Magic. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Here's a free utility for that, but it's not so easy to use:
