How can I get rid of my Naturally Speaking Word macro? I think it is causing Word to load slowly.

I have actually removed naturally speaking but that pesky macro is left behind. Also, Word does not let me delete it.

Thanks,

Jon

I've never used NatSpeak, so this is just an idea based on most Word Macro problems, but it might work. Search for normal.dot (with Word closed) and delete all files found. Normal.dot is the template Word uses every time it starts, so chances are the NatSpeak Macro was embeded in this file...hence the reason you can't get rid of it. Please note Jon that if you've made any changes to defaults in documents (default font type, size, etc.) these will be lost.

Try that and see if that works for you.

Q.1. - do you still have the application installed on your machine?

I have a lot of experience with this voice recognition stuff, and have but one solution to your problem, uninstall the program, that should delete the macro, the other solution is to find the specific name for the macro and manually delete it if the program uninstall didn't do the trick.

but dude, in any case, a macro shouldn't slow down the load speed of an application...
