AC 97 Audio

Hi guys,

I would like to know something about my soundcard...

Is it possible to put some MIDI on that card? I installed some music software on it and with the souncard he only recognises MIDI output, no MIDI input. I need that MIDI input for my keyboard to play music to record on PC

You think I need a bigger soundcard, or could I do it with this soundcard? I don't have big money to spend on expensive soundcards for the moment...

Which sound card. AC97 dont help. Its just the codec. Lots of decent cards use that codec. Need info.:t

"AC97" doesn't even tell what codec. It's just the codec bus. Saying "AC97 sound" is about as informative as saying "AGP graphics".

O.K. I stand corrected it was even less info then I thought. Anyhow is it intergrated audio ?(onboard) sure sounds it as you didnt name the sound card. If so what mobo.:t

Have you checked in system properties?

Yep in that situation its a Avance card. Need more of a name then ac97 Im affraid;)

You can almost always load custom GM packs.

Still not sufficient. MIDI isn't coming from the codec, it's coming from the chipset that drives the codec.

Now - back to your original question - can't help you until you tell us what type of soundcard you have and/or if it's integrated (you'd know that because the jacks are connected to the mobo

True. Yep were all still waiting-need the info. Even sisoftsandre will prolly tell ya if you dont know. Just dw it.:t
