Dear sir/madam,

I am thinking of joining an ISP here in the
UK which is offering a years 24/7 net access for only £25. The problem is that one of the prohibitions of this service is that it does not allow any streaming content of any kind. Please can you tell me:-

1. What exactly is streaming content?
2. Does this mean I can not download mp3s or use and download manager/software ie getright or gozilla to download files whilst accessing the service, thus preventing me from having resumable downloads?

I need to know the answers to the above asap as the subscribtion to the service is increasing very shortly?

Help much appreciated.

Thanks

I think streaming content means videos or audio (like radio stations) in realplayer or windows media player. Maybe because it can keep the users connected, which would violate their "disconnect for being unactive" policies?

I assume you mean £25 per month, thats not cheap, I get 24/7 (as our American cousins like to say) for £15 (Btinternet Anytime), there are others that do it for the same price, check out Clara net too, they have a very good reputation.

***** BTW, I know we are very polite over here, but the Dear Sir/Madam is not required, no standing on ceremony here!!, a little fawning from some perhaps. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif*****

wyvrn was on the right track, streaming means, realplayer. You will still be able to download MP3s, but you won't be able to watch news broadcasts or stuff of that matter over the internet.
