I think this is the way to do it. I haven't worked on one in a while (thank the Lord).

put the imac with the screen on the floor. carpet is not the best thing (static), but pad it somehow. there is 1 main screw near the top. then you gotta pop off the plastic casing (not that easy). there are 2 more screws by the top, and a buttload of wires to unplug, including the vga. then you just slide the whole assembly up. The hdd and cdrom should be at the bottom of the assembly.

if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. :p

you're pretty much right Midknyte. My sister has the pink iMac sooooooo  oy those things are a pain in the ****.

Let's see, I've upgraded the ram in it, fixed some problems with the OS, taken some candle wax out of it, nice red wax, along with the keyboard, made it look kinda cool and unique, oh yea, then there is that quater I took out of the dvd drive. She has a 2yr old may I add along with a 1yr old. :p

As a matter of fact, i do try to keep distance with those things called "mac-whatever", but in this case, i'm kind of forced to get it up runing asap, just got today a brand new maxtor 60 gb ide for it. Hope it will work with that **** thing!:) maybe its my own prejudice, but i really do hate that "an unespected error has occurred..." advices of mac os!!

It's really not that bad once you know what to look for. I described it as best as I could.

I'm not sure if i remember right but the last Imac I worked on required only one screw at the bottom end of it to be removed whne it had the screen faced down, from there, everything else was accessable... (i remember this from the era of the original imacs)
