Say you get a mobo and cpu that support 533 FSB.
You just need to get the fastest ddr you can afford, right?
There's no rule that you must use 266 or 400, or is there? What's optimal?

Are you going to run a stock speeds or overclock? You don't need to buy the best stuff if you are just going to run @ stock.

Ultimately it depends on what the specific mobo can handle. However, you would want at least PC2700 (333).

Yup, if your just wanting to use it generally then get the RAM speed matchign that of your CPU, which will save you a few quid. Of course if you upgrade your CPU at a later date this may mean you may have to upgrade the RAM with it :(
If however crazy overclocking is your thing get the fastest possible supported by your board :x
