I keep wonder, where the current names come from. All I can think is:

Pentium (from greek pente = 5)

Athlon (from greek athlos = great achienment)

I admit I am a bit biased towards the greek etymology (there's a big greek word for you).

Duron (from latin dure = see endure)

Celeron (no idea)

Anyone else with different meanings?

theos: (e pronounced like "air" and the emphasis on the o) the word "GOD" in greek (after my callsign in the army).
