Hi all, I've been reading on this board and the lists I sub to and I'd like to know how to do this. I have one viking k56lp pci modem {which is a pain to configure- I have to either disable most of the comports or enable a *soft* (non-existant?) 5th comport?? to get it to work}. And I have 2 generic 28.8 modems both with rockwell chipsets. How do I set up the 2 isa modems to muliplex? and would that be better than the single pci modem?
As always any help would be appreaciated.

You can use a combination of any two modems to multilink them. You must have Windows 98 or the Shotgun software from Diamond. Win 98 works better. Most importantly you must have an account with an ISP that supports dual analog connections. I am connected at 101kbs right now and regularly connect at 100. Not as good as cable, but better than a single connection. Diamond's website has a list of the ISP's that support dual analog, look under the Shotgun section at www.diamondmm.com. Good luck.

Thanks JimS, my 2 isp's are aol & netzero, do they support dual analog connections? Netzero keeps getting a little better every month but asking them for tech help takes a while, the last time I emailed them for help it took a few days for them to get back to me and still didnt answer my question. Aol on the otherhand has online tech help if you want to wait the 15min or so for them to get to you. I'll find out if they do and post for more info,
HEY, I'm not a junior member anymore...cool

Hey rookie- When you e-mail support@netzero.net with a tech question use 999 in the subject field and a real live person will respond. I got a couple of very expert type replys in about a day!

Another very important thing is you have to have 2 phonelines. This is a no-brainer, but but just so everything is clear. I would go for the 2x28.8 instead of 1*56.6.
Althoug you have to pay twice, cuz you are using 2 connections. - Or at least you have to in Denmark! /forum/biggrin.gif
