Coke employee fired for drinking Pepsi

By: News 8 Austin Staff

Delivery truck driver Rick Bronson was fired from Coca-Cola after he was caught drinking a Pepsi on the job.

That violated Coke's policies aimed at preventing slander against the company.

After completing a delivery at a California store, Bronson bought a Pepsi and drank it in the back room.

The catch was that he was still in his Coke uniform.

Bronson had been with Coke for 12 years.

It's one of those things I guess, seems daft but if it's in his contract....

Still, seems a bit excessive if thats the only reason. It might be he is a bad employee and Coca-Cola were after a reason to fire him for which he couldn't come back and sue for.

This was really dumb on the part of Coca-Cola. If I was a Pepsi exec I would signing that driver up right now to an ad contract. Can you see it now? $:x $$$:x $
