I'm asking because I recently bought one a month and a halve ago, and now I cant even get it to turn on. Also my friends girlfriend bought one a month before mine broke, and hers broke a few weeks before mine. The problem seems to be that after a while the player won't recognise any disc you put in. But in my case.... after fooling with trying to bring down the firmware to factory settings more then 4 times the player won't even turn on. Has anyone one else encountered or heard of such problems?
I can't say I've had any problems with my RioVolt. I've upgraded the firmware twice without a hitch. It plays all of my burned audio and mp3 CDs as well as regular CDs.

No problems what so ever with the Volt reading no disc? My troubles started two weeks after i bought it ... every other disc i put in it would come back reading "NO DISC". But all i had to do was open and shut the lid again. Then it started happening more and more, then kaput. And i checked the day i t was shipped to me... i've only had it for 27 days.
Nope... no problems whatsoever.
I currently have firmware version 1.13f loaded. I'm using generic CompUSA 650MB CDRs.

Hmmmm my problem started with Firmware 2.0 (which came out a week or two ago). But at leas the firm ware made the cd's load faster http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Never had a problem, the Volt is a great player. I have been using version 2.0 since it came out.

Maximum PC did a review on it in their latest issue. It received a 5/10 rating. Most of the gripes had to do with issues reading CD's.
