Hi i've downloaded the programm you've reccomended Cpu-z, It really helped me with identifying the motherboard : it is SiS-730
But I still need drivers for this motherboard, because it cannot identify onboard graphics and nor sound!! All help welcome!!

you need to provide more info than that. doesn't the motherboard have any markings on it? at least a brand?

Yes, try Aida32 or Belarc Advisor, they should be able to identify your motherboard. SiS 730 is a chipset.

SIS-730............is it an all-in-1 board, i.e. sound, video, lan etc on the board? In all probability if it is, it could be a PCChips, Amptron, Alton, ECS board. If so, you can download ALL of the drivers from the PCCHips website.

... but www.sis.com will give you the most current drivers anyhow. Download AGP, IDE, VGA drivers from there. See which ones install, and which don't.

Now sound and modem may or may not come from the SiS 730 chip too - try the respective SiS drivers (7018 audio, 900 LAN); if these don't take, then you really need to identify the board.

This in turn is best done by looking at the BIOS ID tag shown at the bottom of the initial screen.
