Hi, i just got a new mobo - Epox 8K9A2+. i connected everything, power switch, power supply everything. Press the power button... nothin. :( i checked over everything and still cant figure it out. Could it be the power supply? 300w. maybe need 350? any help would be appreciated. :t

Remove the board from the case, place it on a soft, non-conductive surface near the case and plug in the ATX power. Place the vid card in and connect the monitor. Connect the power. Nothing else needs to be connected. Press down hard on the vid card and use your screwdriver to short the POWER BUTTON pins. See if it POSTs.

Do the fans in the PSU spin up when you turn the power on? If not then theres either a problem with the power supply to the PSU or the PSU itself

well first, no the psu fan wasnt going...

but the good thing is i found the problem :D
there were 2 mounts in the case for the old mobo, which were touching the new mobo where they wernt supposed to

guess i was lucky i didnt really mess up the board, huh? :p

ps - thank you very much bipolarbill! who should i write the check out to? :p :t

you WERE lucky you didn't short out your board. I had a guy that exchanged his motherboard 3 times before he checked it in for repair. He felt like a dumb@$$ when I told him that he fried the other boards because he put a standoff in EVERY hole under the motherboard. You gotta be careful with those standoffs. ;)
