At stock speeds the 9500Pro, overclocked its hard to say, as the 9600Pro is a fantastically good overclocker, but then the r9500pro doesnt overclock bad either

THe 9500 PRO is way better than the 9600PRO. I read an article(I think it was in a post here awhile ago..) that compared the two at stock speeds, the 9600PRO is ****.

BTW, Newegg just got some BBATI 9500 PRO's for $189 new, I suggest you snap one up asap before they are all gone!

a friend of mine recently was looking to get a new card and he posed this same question... his logic was the higher the number the better it must perform. Probably due to 9700 being better and 9800 the one better than that.

Between the two - the R9500Pro hands down. Far better performer, even at lower clock speeds.
R9600Pro performs on par with FX5600, while R9500Pro is a rival to FX5600 Ultra.

New FX5600 Ultra clocked at 400/800 should be really sweet, should be in a $200 price tag

Some of the results are weirs on that site - look where the 9500 Pro comes on 3DMark03 – Mother Nature! Beats 9700 and 9600

Put it this way, the only three that matter are the r9500, r9700 and r9800
