Is there anything special about the black bottom CDRs other than the way they look? I've noticed they're more expensive and don't support as high of a burn speed as other cdr's.

They just wanted to make them look like old 45RPM records. gjimene2 06-12-2003, 07:12 PM I haven't fooled with them. I saw an add for some that were made out of Vynil  Bigjakkstaffa 06-12-2003, 07:16 PM If you want to burn audio CD's theyre prolly nto the best thing in the world to use as many CD players can be a bit funny about discs with poor reflective qualities --Jakk:t stix_kua 06-13-2003, 02:27 AM They work well and look cool...Think of it like this...do you want the common green PCB motherboards or MSI's red PCB mobos:D v0rTeX 06-13-2003, 02:46 PM I agree with jak, Ive burned a few audio CDs onto the black surface CD-Rs and they dont always play in my car cd player... although every silver bottom disc Ive burned works great. I originally bought them because 1) they look cool and 2) Ive heard that PS discs were more scratch resistant than regular CDs and the PS discs are also black bottomed... guess the second one is more on hearsay than anything but they do look nifty and work great for data discs :D stix_kua 06-17-2003, 04:01 PM Originally posted by v0rTeX I agree with jak, Ive burned a few audio CDs onto the black surface CD-Rs and they dont always play in my car cd player... although every silver bottom disc Ive burned works great. I think Jakk hit the nail on the head. IF the player has problems reading a cd like that it would be because of 'reflectivity'. Hey a new word! :x stix_kua 06-18-2003, 12:34 AM Originally posted by v0rTeX actually yes the black bottoms I used were memorex but sometimes it still wont play every time in my car cd player... my home cd changer does handle it better though.
