It seemed only right to ask this question on such a prestigious board as SysOpt.com. What proposals can you make, being tech professionals and pc enthusiasts, that will get the ball rolling on fixing this market disaster?

One must realize that the volatility in the tech industry is nothing new to the public eye, but the bubble that burst a few months ago is, and thousands have already lost their careers over it- perhaps you are one of them.

Is their a quick solution, and does that solution exist in the employees themselves? Or, is this entire crisis the result of corporate herangling and market fluctuations?

It was ludicrous to think that a website stock that exceeded 100 bucks a share ex. Amazon.com, would ever survive long enough to pay off such a large market investment! Don't get me wrong, there are many people who got VERY rich from their Inet investments, then there are others who lost their shoes over it, and those are the people who need help.

When the market bounces back, and it is starting to happen already, the tech stocks won't be as crazy as they were, and the companies that come out of the smoke will be much smarter, and much stronger. Let's face it, it's going to take a pretty strong company to convince investors that a tech stock is worth the investment, and we are already seeing that happen. Companies like Sony, Microsoft, and even Linux are realizing the truth in my previous statement and are making very direct efforts to show themselves to be very reliable investments - Linux has a little work still to come... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

So please, give me your thoughts. I'm sure a great number of the people on this forum have been directly affected by this industry, and heaven-forbid you were one of those hurt. But if you were- post your thoughts here on what you think needs to be done to get you out of the unemployment offices, and back in your easy chairs and huge penthouse condos in Hawaii http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Make apps that use the faster chips more appealing. Speed up the system bus. Make the user experience at home totally different from work as most IT pros don't want to use the off time for work. Encourage the use of neighborhood wireless networks. Increase the prize for Rc5 to $10^6 per completed project.
