I'm using no-brand CD-Rs to burn stuff and the quality is alright. :D Izdaari 06-12-2003, 04:38 AM Never heard of different brands recording at different sound quality, but some brands will record reliably at much higher speeds than others. On my 48x Lite-On drive, Memorex didn't like recording at higher than 24x - if I tried it made coasters a lot, though at 24x it was reliable. TDK is happy at 32x and maybe I can take it higher, though I haven't bothered because 32x gets it done fast enough. Both brands of media are rated at 48x. NDD 06-12-2003, 05:30 AM Too high speeds might cause buffer underruns, and even thought BURN-Proof or similar technology is not quite a basic part of any burner, Audio CDs might still be affected - you may hear some "pops" and "scratches". For purpose of quality - I wouldn't advice recording Audio discs at speeds higher then 24x. SysOpt.com
