BipolarBill 06-11-2003, 04:45 PM First off, there are no hundred-wire cables. 80 is the max. The PCI bus is cable of transferring at 133MB/s. There's plenty of room for a PCI IDE card. Such cards are rated up to UDMA6 and are capable of 45MB/s. $1500-P4 gamer 06-11-2003, 05:09 PM BPB I think he's almost confusing mhz for mb/sec.;) Like already said pci bus is 133mb/sec. The pci IDE card only isnt the prob since its at max 45mb/sec and most drives never hit top speed /transfer rate anyhow. The REAL problem is that leaves you 88mb left now. Now lots of things run off that same pci bus. ergo 80mb/sec wont go too far. Ya got yer modem and winmodems are very cpu dependant-meaning lots of pci data transfer Id suspect(?) then things like IDE, other add in cards ethernet maybe usb 2.0 card etc. WoW where'd all my bandwidth go???:t Nails9inmyhead 06-11-2003, 05:26 PM yeah, that ends confusion. thanks SysOpt.com
