When you install any version of IE, it normally creates a folder on the root drive called "Windows Update Setup Files". That's it.

or get the files of a demo cd. There is usually a network install file, it's larger (significantly usually) but allows you to save/transport around.

Not sure exactly what you are asking because I am tired but this may help and be simple.

Way to be creative, man! I had a keyboard with a bad backspace. that was a b!tch. :(

Here's how to download the network install version:

Pull the spacebar off and spring clean it out tap it with a pen see if it works then put it all back should work if its not broken, heck you could wash it let it dry for a few days and may work. Some shops throw floppies and keyboards in a tub and recycle them to another customer.

when the backspace of an old keyboard didn't work, I just hit the insert button so it will replace instead of insert the letter, :D so just hit the back arrow, and correct over your mistake.

I figured my way around it until I could get another keyboard. it was only like an hour or two. no biggie, but it just messes up your typing rhythm. :p

sometimes a hammer comes in very handy...

I won't recomment this to anybody but if nothing helps I mean cleanin etc...just gave it a small and sweet blow surprise surprise it started working.

Keep one of the magazine CD's that give it away.

You can't install IE6 to win 95 acording to M$ - But that is because software specifically denies the install.
Just look at the inf files.
