Hey i just recently installed the game, it all works perfectly, but when ppl start killing each other, the text should be either red or blue. But my text is just all black :(

can anything be done about this problem?, or should i just re-install the game?

Have you installed the patch yet? It is 1.31 and can be dl'ed from HERE (http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield1942/gamedemo.jsp?state=01010) .
