You could use an 80mm fan with an adaptor. Try something like the Papst 8412NGL for some peace and quiet. 12dB(A).

Your 33db fan may be rated at 33 but it prolly aint true like my CPU fan its supposed to be 31db but I have case fans installed that are supposed to be 33. when its running, the suposedly quiet CPU fan is the one that drowns out everything else.

It is possible to put together a good custom setup for $120. Kits for that much perform much worse than air cooling.
I would recommend using a quiet fan, like a Pabst or a Panaflow @7V with a heatsink like the Thermalright Ax-7, SK-7, SLK-800 or SLK-900. :)

It's also hopeless for me to get any quietness with my xp1800, and I have spent like $55 for all the cooling fans. The current fan, volcano 7, runs at 39, 40 db noise. :x
This aspect alone makes me appreciate so much intel-based compag and dell boxes at my workplace. Virtually noiseless.

i have a 1800+ just bought it couple of months ago, thing is i went throught many heatsinks when i had my duron and none of them where quiet enought. With my new 1800+ its awesome, i use the stock heatsink with the cpu and the noise is dead quiet i can hear my 7200 maxtor harddrive spin over the cpu fan. I dont know about u but i guess i just got lucky, maybe its the new model or something , but i also overclocked the 1800+ to 2000+ and its still runs at 38 C , 40 C load.
