I slowly go down by 1mz at a time on the bus speed,. I may have stable 2,370 mz-189 bus , using a JUIHB 0310 LTC default 1.5 v 1700 tbred. What is holding me back from more? My guess either the Muskin 3200 222 two 256mb sticks- not sure. My best guess is the hard drive is not running right above 189bus. I am using very little cpu volts only 1.675-the chip is not holding ,back. What I am looking for is the highest setting that I can run. I really like this board and from what I have seen the new nforce and 400 motherboards maybe faster, but not much better. I have done a lot of work on the cooling. SK-7- artic silver 111 and ytech 48 adj, North bridge cooled by Monster alpha PEP 66t using artic silver adhesive. Mosfets cooled by althon heatsink parts using artic silver adhesive. southbridge -old NB heatsink using artic silver adhesive. One last cooling device- a thermright cooling duct to raise the fan off the SK-7 to get rid of the fan hubs air dead zone on the fins of the SK-7- I have no reason to beleive this won't help the heatsink cool better- the cooling duct will also bring in some cooler air. The very last thing to finish off this nice fast computer two super fast 120gig 8mb hard drives for 240gigs of raid zero-I just figure to run this setup till it breaks. :x :r :D

Get an nforce 2 and your hdd problems will go away, I think. The hard drives run at the same speed as your PCI bus, btw:t

Yeah the nforce 2 boards auto-lock the PCI bus (preventing HDD damage) and can be set to lock the AGP. However 2.3ghz out of an XP1700+ is bloody good to me, im having major headaches gettign my 2400+ over 2.3ghz :wwk:, think youself lucky, very nice work though

Your right that a nforce board would be better. maybe I should build a second computer. I was thinking of that-its expensive , but the only way I can dottle and still have at least one working computer. I may be a millionaire soon my stock RGUS gone up 227% and may go to five dollars . Thats from 10 cents to 27cents. So I got plenty of dough-but I don't want to waste it though. What do you think of the long time running of a hard drive at 189
bus speed, will it ruin the hard drives?:x :x :x

Well an nforce 2 baord will only set you back 85 quid, hardly megabucks, i wouldnt bother buildign another computer yet if your unsure about the finaincial impliations, just swap out the mobo

I always run a raid zero in my system and would have to buy a raid card-my choice in motherboard s would be a abit nforce. Where could I get a good 100 ata raid card - highpiont, donot want a promise card.?:x

If you must go abit then itsn an NF7-S, whatever you do make sure you get the newer revision, the original ones werent renowned for their overclockign ability

I guess, I will just keep running this board-KX7-R. I still like it and the Kx7-R is totally debugged. These nforce boards have a lot of bug, I hear. My computer is plenty fast. I should just wait for the new via 600 to come out and set up my huge raid with brand new WD specail editions 120gig each, this with 2,360mz and now a bus speed of 188-had to go down one mz for stability is more than enoth computer:x :x :x Also adding a thermright spacing duct to my SK-7 from 1cool.com looks like I would get a degree or two off my temps which I need. The 800a looks very tempting ,but the SK-7 with this new duct might be fine.:x

I guess you could raise the multi a little more and/or drop the fsb some.

Can not raise the mult any more than 12.5. If I could get mult 13, I would get 2,400+mz, I won't blow the bridges-to risky-I love my chip too much:x :x

Yeah i dont like fiddling with the bridges, again though we have another advantage from an nforce 2 board, they auto-unlock the multipliers on all Tbred chips

Well I guess , My board is maxed out,now onto the the cooling duct and brand new pretty WD"s 120gig each 8mbs at raid zero- this =will give me a huge boost in computer power- and I am done, except for a new ati pro 9700 with games.:D

Go for the 8rda3+, it includes VDD adjustment options in the BIOS that are sorely missing from an o/c'ers point of view in the 8rda=
