Lots of info available on MIRC, but just a warning, be careful of any files that are sent to you. I have a couple of friends that have had virsues forwarded to them in files by people on MIRC. Obviously some people have nothing better to do with their time.

jwmurray has a very good warning. Anytime you go into a very populated channel, there are always people who run macros that send files to your client. You have to authorize these transfers, of course, in order for them to be downloaded to your machine. On occasion, I've downloaded the files just for the sole purpose of scanning them and then reporting the beatneck to an IRC cop.

mIRC is a reliable program, but just like jwmurray, and Mungla have both said, people can send files..

What i suggest is only receive files from people you know, and turn on the filter, so for anyone to send you a file, you have to first "accept" the file.

Good luck http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
