I have no idea at all of anything about benchmarking(among other things:p), but i just ran 3Dmark2003 and got a score of 2724....i ran it at 1024....
Im running an AMD 2600+ in an epox 8RDA+ mobo, a gig of ram(PC2700), radeon 9500 vid card...
is 2724 a good score for this hardware?

Yeah that's pretty good for your hardware. I have a 2000+ with a Radeon 8500 and i only get about 1250 or so. You should look into overclocking that Radeon if you want even more performance. I'm not sure how much it can be overclocked but i would be happy if my computer got that score!

Your score would prolly be much better if that was a 9500 PRo, but as it is its not bad, you can try o/c'ing the gfx and CPU for a boost if you want

hey guys,
just got a new mobo in today and I ran 3dmark2003 for the first time- I wanted to see what a good score was so I thought that I would check the forum.
I got a 4330 on it. Is that pretty decent?
My system is:
MSI K7N2-DeltaL mobo
Athlon XP2000+@1.82ghz
Radeon 9500np modded to a 9700np
WD 80Gig 8mb cache
Could someone tell me how this pans out with others' results?
Is there any way to make this score better?

What video resolution did you run it in? 1024 or 800x600...cuz your cpu is slower than mine, and we have the same video card....so i dont know why you would score 1500 more than i

The resolution was 1024 by 768 (default). I don't know why it scored higher. I haven't tweaked my system too much, just the processor and the modded video card. If your card hasn't been modded then that could be the reason for the difference in performance; you must take into account that mine is modded to a 9700np, and with another small tweak it could be a 9700pro. I am also using a 512mb corsair ram module set to 2-2-2-5 latency timings. Perhaps these are the factors that hev contributed to the increased performance.
If I can figure out some way to post my score on the web using their file format, I will.:)

Sounds about right, the Radeon 9000 isnt a fast enough card to cope with 3dmark2003 at all. Swap it for somink like an r9500/9700/9800 and watch it fly

Try 3dmark2001 SE, should give you a much more ego-friendly score :)
If you wanan boost your 2003 score of course you can always overclock the video card, ensure vsync is off and detail settigns are minimal before runnign the benchmark and you could always try and overclock the CPU futhur, you still however, will not get a really flattering score out of that card

is 2724 a good score for this hardware? There are only 2 differences between your system and mine; I have an Asus A7N8X Dlx Mobo and a 9700Pro Gaffix card. my lowest score is around 4870 marks at default (1024) settings, my highest; 5068 w\ a mild mem o\c. I think you should be getting at least in the 35xx's!
[edit] 14200 marks in 2k1se

haha, mine wasnt geared towards performance, i customized it myself, but it was geared more towards quality

When benchmarking though you use performance as it gives a better indication fo the setup's raw speed, also produces a more ego-flattering score :x

Welcome to SysOpt [B]Racer.
I find it hard to believe that such a system could return such a paltry score! Any DX9 compatible card shouldn't be getting below around 2000 3Dmark03 points with "Quality" settings selected. Are you sure about the specs you posted? What type and speed RAM do you have? What is it you intend to upgrade? Your system seems to be pretty much up-to-the-minute already!
Either you have a major issue with your system, or you are mistaken\exagerating the poor results\system spec! Which is it?
