New Chipsets and P4s From Intel Boast Speed

I was watching a preview on Tech Tv about the new chip and the 800 SB, but they came to gamming with the P4 and they said that the SB does nothing for gamming, there was know change nore did it speed anything up as far as gaming, does that sound right? just wana know, small question thanks.

Yep but in a few years it will be useful. Right now games dont need that much bandwith.

Can someone tell me if this mother board will need a graphics card installed in order to simply display basic monitor function?
I am not an old hand at this(obviously),but my current one has no
card and its display is adequate for my needs, not that I even get it.

I think the 865pe chipset does not come with a onboard display card. However the 865gbf does come with a intel extreme 2 graphics card.

I think your are mistaken. Intel chipsets will only work with intel CPU and there is no way you can use a amd with intel chipset.

I have a intel 856gbf
2.4c 800mhz
512ddr ram
geforce 3
80 GB hard drive

the board comes with a on board display intel extreme 2 graphics. I have diabled this and am usoing the gf3
