I Need Urgent HELP

I was just trying to run a demanding game on my pc, as it started I relised my computer was stuggling to cope, I tried to escape which did'nt work, so i switched it off.
I restarted the CPU and the brighness was way too HIGH the color was faint and basically I tried everything, including monitor adjustments and color.
I would just like too say i,m a novice and I might be overlooking somthing simple.
Should I panic?

Any advice, comments much appretiated

I would suggest going back into the game, and exiting properly. Otherwise, I don't know what to suggest.

I'm just guessing here, because you didn't state which video card or driver you're using, but you may be able to reset the video driver to it's default brightness, contrast, and gamma settings in the "Advanced" section of "Display Properties". If you don't already know how to get into "Display Properties", here's the long route:
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced

Next time you have to bail out of a game, try ALT+TAB or ALT+ENTER to return to Windows. If that doesn't work, try one or more CTRL+ALT+DEL's before going for the power switch. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
