I got my hands on a K6/2 350 i got out of a machine i upgraded and the heatsink/fan seems to be glued/stuck to the top of the CPU. Now i think its an amd retail pack because the top of the fan says "K6/2 350 2.2v core, 3.3v i/o".
It looks to me like there are some very thin strips sticking them together. Can anyone help me get the cpu off the heatsink? I've tried using a thin knife and screwdriver but its stuck good.

Any advice???

There are two things you can try. Stick it on a board and power it up and let it get hot and CAREFULLY try the knife again or put it in the freezer for a hour or so and carefully will holding the processor, use the handle of a screw driver and hit the side of the fan. May have to hit it several times kindda hard, but if it's on with epoxy, this should break it loose! If it is epoxy, you'll have a tough job of cleaning it off the processor, recommend sandpaper, about 600-800 grit to get the bulk of it off, then work your way up to 2000 grit to polish it.

Good luck!

I would suggest putting it in a plastic bag and then sticking it in the freezer for about a hour. Then take a flat blade screwdriver and carefully pry the two apart.
