I got an Abit KT7A-Raid today together with 2 40 Gig 7200rpm Seagate Barracudas.This is added to my 13 Gig Quantum Fireball CX13.0A(5400rpm) and my 17 Gig Fujitsu MPD3173AT.

Currently the system is set up like so:

Primary IDE Channel
===================
(Master) C:\ Drive : Quantum Fireball CX13.0A
(Slave)D:\ Drive : Fujitsu MPD3173AT

Seconday IDE Channel
====================
(Master) (E:\ Drive : CL DVD Rom 12x)
(Slave) (F:\ Drive : HP CDRW 9510i)

(G:\ Drive : Iomega USB Zip 250)

Raid - Primary Channel
======================
(Master) H:\ Drive : Seagate ST340824 A
(Slave) - None

Raid - Secondary Channel
========================
(Master) I:\ Drive : Seagate ST340824 A
(Slave) - None

Currently All my programs are on Drive C and my games/Mp3's and downloads are on Drive D

What im thinking of doing:
- Moving all of C:\ onto H:\
- Using I:\ as a mirror disk of H:\
- Splitting contents of D:\ Between the Cleared C:\ and D:\

OR

Use H:\ as the main drive (Copying all files from C:\) and splitting all other content over the remaining 3 Drives

HOWEVER:

I have no idea how to move all my files from C:\ to H:\ and Then use H:\ as the main Operating system drive - is it just worth installing everything again on H:\ and formatting C:\?!?!

PLUS:

Any better suggestions of setup of the hard disks (what content on what drive etc.) would be greatly accepted.

On a final note, people with Raid motherboards, what setups do you use for your hard disks and your operating systems?

Regards

Richard
