the manual for this board refers to a 4-pin 12v
socket on the MB, in addition to the 20-pin power
line from the P/S. I've never used this hookup and wonder if
this plug is standard on the newer P/S's.
This is a square 4-pin socket---is there an adaptor for
this. Thanks:confused:

The connection is the ATX12v connector, used to supply power to the cpu . Some manufacturers are using them on AMD mobo's now. I would say most new P/S's come ATX12V / ATX 2.03 compliant.

Some newer high-end PSU's have one of these included. Make sure it is not wrapped up in there somewhere. Otherwise, Rocketmech gave you a good link.
