Having some major problems...

I have three computers, all of them have windows XP isntalled, all are fast p4.

Two of them have one NIC card, one of them has two NIC cards.

I own a belkins router and a cable modem.

First, I tried connecting my my cable modem to the WAN port on my router, and then all of my computers to the router. Did not work.

Then I tried setting up an ICS thing using the network wizard on windows...this computer (the one with two NIC) connects to the cable modem and connects to the router (on port one). Then my other two computers connect to port 2 and 3 of the router. Did not work.

I have zero experience with home networking...can someone help me out here??

ICS and Routers do not work together, get rid of ICS.

Most Cable ISP use the MAC number of you registered computer as a forum of Pass Word. Read the Router’s Manual, and “Clone” the NIC MAC to the Router.

did you make sure to set all systems to obtain ip automatically? run ipconfig /all and see what values you get.

never run ICS and a router in the same network.

modem -> wan port on router
lan port on router -> pcs

first shut off all hardware. then power up the modem, router, pcs in that order. check the router and make sure it is picking up the IP and dns info from your ISP. check that dhcp is enabled on the router also.
