:( cannot get windows xp to recognise my dvd player,
it comes up as a cdrom,i tried to find the drivers ,but i had no joy.
any suggestions welcome.

i wouldnt worry if it works, and as far as drivers, most ATAPI drive devices dont need drivers.

What DVD software do you use, will it play DVDs? If not click on this url and do a search for your DVD drivers, they may have them.

If it comes up as a CD Player instead of DVD player most likely they sold you a fake unit

very easy to do

i'll take you to the store and exchange it

DVD and CD drives do not need drivers

that goes for both SCSI and ATAPI
