in system properties i have these settings

virtual memory-16298mb free
system resources-55% free

in mem turboII

free physical ram 84(35%)
free paging file-1792m(100%)
memory load index 44%
auto recovery level 15m
target free ram 85m


based on these settings how can i get my system to run faster if possible (minus overclocking)

system specs

duron 800
asus a7v133
gforce mx2
256 ram
8x dvd
on board sound

1) Assuming that you're running Win98, I would suggest adding the following line in your system.ini under [386Enh]:

ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1

2) I'm not sure how much you're hitting the virtual memory file, but I would suggest making it a static size (fixed), not dynamic. Make the value of the virtual memory file the same for minimum & maximum.

hi ndc. i made the changes in system properties.

hard disk-c:\16641mb free
minium-512
maxium=512

mem turboII

free physical ram=145(57%)
free paging file=512m (100)
memory load index=30%

i also added the line in systemini. system seems to be running faster. just want to make sure everything was done correctly.
