Just wondering - does anyone use a "Gaming" hardware profile in Windows XP to stop any unnecessary services while running a PC Game? Just wondering if it actually boosts game performance significantly.
thanks.

AllGamer 05-29-2003, 10:30 AM is Not a bad idea, and is rather a GOOD practice ;) seriously. but I went a Step further i dual boot back to Win98 to play games much better performance and your OSes are CLEAN! so Games goes with play time in 98 and Apps goes with works in XP/2K/Linux :t Radi0h3ad 05-31-2003, 08:52 AM http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=1554 http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=114 Couple of handy links there showing how to do this for anyone who's curious. In answer to the question tho, I have stopped some unnecessary services running, as I use my PC primarily for gaming. :) SysOpt.com
