Well I got a new computer with a Athlon 1Ghz and well the CPU temp varies from 98F all the way to 124F after playing games. Is that too hot?

The highest temperature your cpu is allowed to run before burning up is about ~90C. You are well below that temperature. Your cpu reaches up to 124F (which isn't that bad) since it's underload when you play a game. Don't worry about your temperatures. It's not too high.
